5 Keys To A Healthy Diet in 2024

As we begin another year, many people like the idea of eating healthier. But with all the information out there, how do you even know where to start? We compiled 5 easy but important ways you can improve your eating habits immediately.

1.  Eat lots of fruits and veggies.
The benefits of regularly eating fruit and vegetables are innumerable. When you buy them in season, you get even better flavor and more nutrients! As a bonus, you know where your food comes from and you support local farmers.

2. Eat 100% grass-fed meat.
Meat is an excellent source of protein and other nutrients like iodine, iron, zinc, vitamins (especially B12), and essential fatty acids. Grass-fed meat, in particular, is shown to have higher levels of Omega-3 fatty acids and other nutrients.

3. Select raw & organic grass-fed milk and cheese.
Milk contains nutrients important for bone health: calcium, phosphorus, vitamin D, and protein. Dairy products are also high in CLA (conjugated linoleic acid) content which is a type of omega-6 fatty acid. The highest CLA content comes from the milk of cows grazing in lush green pastures.

4. Get probiotics.
Probiotics have been proven to improve gut health and brain function and support the immune system. Of course, while you can take a probiotic in capsule form, there are also other highly beneficial ways to get probiotics. Fermented food and drinks in general are good probiotic sources. Use organic bone broth in cooking, or try sauerkraut, kimchi, or kombucha!

5. Choose good snacks.
It's important to choose snacks that will build up your body, not stress it out.

  • Avoid processed foods.

  • Cut down on saturated fat and sugar.

  • Trade in chips and Oreos for dried fruits and nuts.

  • Trade sugary soda for water and kombucha.
